This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.
Hours are published for 4 days a week. The most common schedule is 9 amβ7 pm. It is closed on Monday, Tuesday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Asheboro is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Asheboro follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

A charming little joint. Relaxing atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We grabbed a couple of desserts - including a Biscoff Cookie - and they are delicious.

I absolutely love Black Lantern Tea Room! It has such a cozy, warm, and welcoming atmosphere, and the food is always absolutely delicious. Itβs the kind of place that just feels special every time you visit. Iβve made it a habit to indulge about every other week in one of their specialty cheesecakesβand they are SO worth it! π The teas are delicious, unique, and so much fun to try, and thereβs always something that makes me want to come back again. If youβre looking for a charming little place with wonderful food, amazing desserts, delicious teas, and a cozy atmosphere, Black Lantern Tea Room is definitely worth a visit. One of my favorite local treats! β€οΈ

Yippee Ki Yay cowboy (I think thatβs what it was called) was amazing. Lightning Bug (tea special) was also so refreshing and delicious. Turtle cheesecake was great but the chocolate chip cookie was divine.

It was very busy so our order took a long time. Not sure why it took so We had the Jack and Blue, an inventive and delicious sandwich stack. It was enough to share with some chips. The bakery items were inviting so we purchased a few to go. Would love to return and try some tea offerings

Itβs a beautiful little cafe in downtown Asheboro. I really like how the interior was decorated and the employees were very cheerful and energetic. We ordered the Shut Yo Mouth Bar, Banana Pudding Cup, French Press coffee, and an iced Matcha Latte. The desserts were both fantastic. The Shut yo Mouth bar was made with peanut butter, chocolate chips, toffee, and caramel. It was very good. The employee said people would come just for the Banana Pudding Cup, and my partner emphatically agreed. However the drinks were subpar. The Matcha Latte tasted like iced water, and the coffee was a bit better than hotel coffee.
